Agenda:
- Introduction of the webinar and speakers.
- Overview of yasmine (https://github.com/iris-edu/yasmine-stationxml-editor) features.
- Overview of obsinfo (https://obsinfo.readthedocs.io/en/master/index.html#) features.
- Questions & answers.
Summary: obsinfo is a Pure Python system for creating FDSN-standard metadata files (StationXML) and standardizing/specifying data processing workflows for ocean bottom seismometers. Instrumentation and stations are specified in text-based information files in YAML or JSON format. The goals and technologies of obsinfo are similar to those found in yasmine. The format of the “Atomic Response Object Library” files used by yamine is very similar to that of the “Datalogger, Sensor and Preamplifier” files used by obsinfo. Obsinfo allows to integrate the metadata contained in a subnetwork file into an existing StationXML file, using the YASMINE-CLI tool. The webinar provided a demonstration of the key features of obsinfo and yasmine, and how the two systems can interact.
Target audience: Webinar open to all registered participants, all career stage scientists and professionals, students and PhD candidates, in all the research fields of Geo-INQUIRE.
Learning goals: Familiarise with the key features of obsinfo and yasmine and learn how the two systems can interact.
Research fields (from the registrations): Seismology, engineering seismology / soil dynamics and earthquake engineering, tsunami, other geohazards, GNSS, marine (geo)sciences, atmospheric physics, other Earth science field, computer sciences, other engineering field, physics.
