Date: Friday, 10 July 2026, from 10:00 to 12:30 CEST
Location: Virtual training course
Speakers: Mathilde Vergnolle (OCA, CNRS, Géoazur), Jean-Luc Menut (OCA, CNRS, Géoazur), Eric Marin-Lamellet (CNRS, Géoazur), Guillaume Verbière (OCA)
Contact: mathilde.vergnollegeoazur.unice.fr
Research fields:
- GNSS & Geodesy researcher/scientist or engineer
- Scientific domains: Solid Earth, Sea Level, Atmosphere, …
Target audience: The training is open to all potential users of the EPOS-GNSS Data Gateway, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career and senior researchers, engineers, and technical staff. It is intended for anyone interested in accessing and using raw GNSS data and metadata in the context of open and curiosity-driven Earth science research.
Scope: Learn to explore and download GNSS data and metadata from the EPOS-GNSS Data Gateway
Learning Goals: Exploring and downloading the GNSS metadata and data with:
- the web user interface on the EPOS-GNSS DGW
- the command line client
- the REST-API
- the EPOS ICS portal
Geo-INQUIRE Virtual Access: VA1-23-3
Description:
The training will be divided into three complementary sessions.
The first session will present the EPOS-GNSS Data Gateway (DGW) and its role within the EPOS infrastructure. Participants will be introduced to the available services and workflows for discovering, accessing, and downloading GNSS data and metadata through the web user interface, command-line client, REST API and the multidisciplinary EPOS ICS portal. The concepts will be illustrated through live demonstrations and real-world examples.
The second session will be dedicated to hands-on exercises, allowing participants to apply the concepts introduced during the first session. Activities will focus mainly on the web user interface. Breakout rooms will be available to facilitate interaction, discussions, and direct support from the trainers.
The training will end with Q&A, final remarks and a satisfaction pool.
Agenda:
Session 1 – Seminar and Demonstration
This session will be delivered by Mathilde Vergnolle and Jean-Luc Menut. It will introduce the EPOS-GNSS Data Gateway within the EPOS framework and present its main services and functionalities. Live (or slide) demonstrations will show how to discover, access, and download GNSS data and metadata using the web user interface, command-line client, and REST API.
Session 2 – Hands-on Exercises
This practical session will be delivered by members of the EPOS-GNSS Data Gateway team. Participants will work through guided exercises focusing primarily on the web user interface. To facilitate interaction and provide effective support, attendees could be divided into breakout groups supervised by the trainers.
