As part of the 15th General Assembly of the Asian Seismological Commission, which will take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 3rd to 7th, 2024, there will be a course aiming at improving the earthquake hazard assessment and risk estimation through training on seismic site effects and ground-motion simulation methods. The course will provide theoretical fundamentals and practical training in applied seismology, especially for geoscientists and engineers from developing countries. The course 2024 will take place as an world wide open course in hybrid format, arranged for the benefit of participants from earthquake-prone countries.
Agenda:
Part1:
- Introduction to Site Characterization and Site Effects
- Single-station Methods
- Array-based Methods
Part2:
- Introduction to Ground Motion Simulation Methods
- Stochastic Methods
- Deterministic Methods
- Some Previous Applications
